Hoy hoy Hoy hoy Don't go there boy. Preacher's on the corner wrapped in a heavenly light But noise of the chopper drowns the.

As Time Goes By: The Very Best of Little Feat (1994). Little Feat: Skin It Back - The Rockpalast Collection (2009, DVD) – at the Grugahalle, Essen in 1977, just before the recording album Waiting for Columbus. Includes almost 30 minutes of alternative rehearsal versions including material that did not make it into the final show.

Little Feat ‎– Hoy-Hoy! Label: Warner Bros. Records ‎– 2BSK 3538. Format: 2 Vinyl, LP, Album, Reissue. Performer – Little Feat. Photography – Elizabeth George. Labels indicate this release manufactured and distributed by WEA Records Pty. Limited which indicates an Australian release.

That's one of the nice things compilations like this can do - they can summarize what a band was all about in a way a straight studio album couldn't. So, that's why it may be a good gateway into the band for novices, even though it's missing such essentials as "Willin'" and "Fat Man in the Bathtub," but it's truly for the dedicated, who will not only love the rarities (and these live cuts are hotter, on whole, than Columbus) but will savor the context.

Members included future Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward (who replaced Dallas Taylor in September 1966), Martin Kibbee (. Fred Martin) who would later co-write several Little Feat songs with George (including "Dixie Chicken" and "Rock and Roll Doctor"), and Warren Klein on guitar. The band made an appearance on the 1960s sitcom F Troop as "The Bedbugs". American jam band Phish played all the songs from Little Feat's double album Waiting for Columbus during their annual and traditional Halloween "Musical Costume" on October 31, 2010 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Arlen Roth recorded "Dixie Chicken" in tribute to George on his Slide Guitar Summit album with Lee Roy Parnell in 2013.

Hoy-Hoy!, compiled by Barrère, Payne and Little Feat engineer George Massenburg, isn't a best-of or a reunion, though it does include a new number each by Payne and Barrère. It's mostly a fond, trivia-laden memorial that adds more evidence to George's contradictory myth. To a cultist, the discarded outtakes illuminate the way Lowell George worked. Cultists always want more, of course. I'd rather hear more demos and more early Little Feat instead of three previously released album tracks ("Strawberry Flats," "Easy to Slip," "Forty-Four Blues") or Linda Ronstadt's brave attempt at "All That You Dream. And there are rumors of Little Feat songs so unsavory that they still haven't made it to vinyl (. But Hoy-Hoy! intends to be affectionate, hardly definitive: not a last gasp but, in the Little Feat tradition, a last laugh.
