Patrick Gallois (born 1956) is a French flutist and conductor. Gallois was born in Linselles near the town of Lille in the north of France. At the age of 17 he began studies at the Conservatoire de Paris with the celebrated flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal and after two years received the First Prize. At the age of 21 he became principal flutist of the Orchestre National de France under Lorin Maazel. He served in that capacity from 1977 to 1984

From the age of 17, he studied with Jean-Pierre Rampal at the Paris conservatory and at 21 was appointed 1st flute of the Orchestre National de France, under Lorin Maazel Music Director. He has worked under the direction of such legendary conductors as Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, Pierre Boulez, Karl Boehm, Eugen Jochum, Sergiu Celibidache.

Patrick Gallois is currently the Artistic Director and principal conductor of Sinfonia Finlandia, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Finland and guest conductor with various orchestras throughtout the world. His mastry of artistic expression, gift for sculpting musical textures and renowned flamboyance as a performer set him apart from other conductors. Still active with flute performance dates, Gallois manages to keep a stable balance between the highest standards of both arts and develops international respect in all areas of his work.
