Marilyn Martin is the debut studio album by American singer Marilyn Martin, released by Atlantic in 1986. The album's various producers include Jon Astley, Arif Mardin, Simon Climie, John Parr and Phil Ramone. Three singles were released from the album; "Night Moves", "Move Closer" and "Body and the Beat". Night Moves" reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Move Closer" reached No. 34 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

In late 1985, there was good reason to believe that Marilyn Martin would become a pop/rock superstar. Her duet with Phil Collins, "Separate Lives," soared to number one on the pop charts, and her supporters assumed that she was going to become as big as Stevie Nicks, Laura Branigan or Pat Benatar. But regrettably, Martin's commercial success turned out to be short-lived - after 1988's This Is Serious, she was dropped by Atlantic and never recorded another album

Marilyn Martin is an American singer best known for her 1985 hit duet with Phil Collins, "Separate Lives. Born in Tennessee but raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Martin gained notice as a back-up singer for such artists as Stevie Nicks, Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Tom Petty and Kenny Loggins, touring with Nicks and Walsh.
