A Question of Balance is the sixth album by The Moody Blues. Released in 1970, the album reached in the United Kingdom and in the United States. In March 2006, the album was remastered into SACD format and repackaged with six extra tracks. In 2008, a remaster for standard audio CD was issued with the same bonus tracks.

The Moody Blues' first real attempt at a harder rock sound still has some psychedelic elements, but they're achieved with an overall leaner studio sound. The group was trying to take stock of itself at this time, and came up with some surprisingly strong, lean numbers (Michael Pinder's Mellotron is surprisingly restrained until the final number, "The Balance"), which also embraced politics for the first time ("Question" seemed to display the dislocation that a lot of younger listeners were feeling during Vietnam).

The Moody Blues ascended to fame in the late '60s via lush mellotrons, conceptual suites, orchestras and multi-tracked harmonies – a grandiose combination that helped launch the progressive-rock movement on albums like 1967's Days of Future Passed. But with A Question of Balance, they aimed to strip things back – at least compared to what came before. was very raw, very little overdubbing," guitarist Justin Hayward said of the Moody Blues' sixth LP during an interview with Redbeard in the Studio. Question (The Moody Blues song). Question" is a 1970 single by the English progressive rock band The Moody Blues. It was written by guitarist Justin Hayward, who provides lead vocals. Question" was first released as a single in April 1970 and remains their second highest charting song, reaching number two and staying on the chart for 12 weeks. It was later featured as the lead track on the 1970 album A Question of Balance
