Album Name The Mantle. This album isn’t meant to be abrasive or intense, it’s not meant to make you want to start a mosh pit, the whole point of The Mantle (well from my opinion anyway) is to create beautiful atmospheric soundscapes, entrance the listener and to capture their emotions.

Agalloch : The Mantle,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. If you go in with the mindset that it’ll bore you, then you’re going to get bored, The Mantle is an album that requires the full attention of the listener for it to be effective, it’s not something you put on in the background whilst you’re doing something else, you have to experience The Mantle for it to take.

Agalloch's second album, The Mantle, is a leaps-and-bounds improvement over their first full-length, 1999's Pale Folklore. That wasn't a bad album, but it was hampered by a low-budget production job that didn't suit the sophisticated tone of the music. The improved production is the first thing that stands out here, evident in the more detailed arrangements, the classier guitar tones, and the fuller overall sound. That said, the music itself has also evolved and matured.

Released August 13, 2002. The Mantle Tracklist  . 2002’s The Mantle is what many consider to be Agalloch’s magnum opus, a great mix of black metal and folk instrumentation that brings it barely to life with bleak and desolate imagery.

Agalloch (/ˈæɡəˌlɑːx/) was an American black metal band from Portland, Oregon. Formed in 1995 by frontman John Haughm, they released five full-length albums, four EPs, two singles, one split single, two demos, four compilation albums and one live video album. They announced their disbandment in May 2016. Named after the resinous wood of the agarwood (Aquilaria agallocha), Agalloch began as the creation of Haughm and keyboardist Shane Breyer. In early 1996, the duo began composing material.

Agalloch is a very unique and original group form Portland Oregon. It is interesting because many of their lyrics (which are very, very good) are about nature and Portland is known for rain if I'm not mistaken. Agalloch is very hard to categorize. They span from post-rock to black metal to folk to doom. The band I am most reminded of is Opeth. There are many interesting acoustic passages that launch into aggressive metal riffs and clean and harsh vocals. Agalloch has a more interesting sound though and this is coming form a person who took the time to download the entire Opeth catalogue.

The Mantle is probably the most important record of Agalloch's career. The result is a perfect blend of songs that flow and pass as if they felt like the wind and they combine a natural grace and a strong humility. Another magnificent album from the Portland, Oregon band Agalloch. Released in 2002, three years following their debut full-length "Pale Folklore", "The Mantle" was the finest album these dudes managed to produce throughout their 21 years of existence. It stands as a testament to what Agalloch was: a band that blended influences from many genres ranging from black metal, folk metal, doom metal, post-rock, ambient, etc etc.

Agalloch's 2002 album, "The Mantle," is about 100% more mellow than their first full length release, "Pale Folklore. The results are absolutely stunning and no-less-than astonishing. In fact, I don't know if I'm even capable of putting this album's greatness and prettiness into words. Some fans compare listening to this album to entering a snowy forest, but I'd say it's more like lying on top of a cloud
