Nat King Cole was way before his time. Too bad he passed away so soon. We could have had a lot more beautiful music from him. I'm just sorry the generations since his passing probably don't know what they're missing by not listening to his beautiful voice. It's here to be purchased (at great prices) and listened to. One can't help but be touched by it and just love it. I agree with everyone else, you can't have Christmas without some of our generations' singers, and Nat King Cole is surely one of them. I hate Christmas music but love Nat King Cole. This is the only Christmas album I can listen to over and over 12 months per year. One person found this helpful.

This cd was beautifully remastered in 1999 and will pass the test of time forever. You may have listened to many CHRISTMAS albums in your lifetime, but very few have this overall quality of singing with a nice display of harmony behind i. hat distinguished NAT is his great sensibility that always transpired in his best. Traditional and restrained, Cole’s album honors the season and its message, an album one could listen to all day without tiring.

Nat Cole made his recording debut in July 1936 with his brother Eddie’s band. Soon after he moved to Los Angeles where he began playing at clubs up and down the California coast, drawing praise from the jazz fraternity and particularly other piano players who marvelled at his talent. It was during this time that gained the moniker ‘King’ from an admiring club owner – it certainly stuck. He was offered a residency at the Swanee Inn on North La Brea Avenue, just south of Hollywood. The four 78 rpm records housed in the album comprised of 8 songs, ‘Body and Soul’, ‘Easy Listenin’ Blues’, Embraceable You’, ‘It’s Only A Paper Moon’, ‘Prelude in C-Sharp Minor’, ‘Sweet Lorraine’, ‘The Man I love’ and ‘What Is This Thing Called Love’.
