On their third album Thunderbirds Are Now! turn to pop for inspiration. It works well in combination with the group's dance-punk sound. But a high quality album should transcend release-date timing issues, and surprisingly TAN!'s Make History, for the most part, does this in a pretty convincing way. The hallmarks of their new-established Justamustache sound are still here - and the album's not all winners, of course - but a consistent adherence to the conventions of pop music (verse, chorus, major keys, one-idea-per-song structures) turns out to work well for this band when applied to their upbeat post-punk aesthetic.

Album Make History ) Make History Lyrics. 20 more seconds to go In 20 more seconds we'll know Just give us a second to breathe In 15 more seconds we'll leave 21 birds on a wire 42 wings set afire Trying to flap out the flame The arsonist is who we should blame 22 kids on the floor (22 kids on the floor) And none that we've. seen here before 44 eyes to the sky 22 kids who will die 23 couples divorce Their marriage had just run its course 23 women and men Who may never get married Never get married again

This article discusses tie-in merchandise and non-televisual media associated with Thunderbirds, a British science-fiction TV series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson in 1964. Since Thunderbirds was first broadcast in 1965, more than 3,000 tie-in products – including children's toys, print media and audio episodes – have been marketed.

As it turns out, his online music critic friends have already brushed them off: It's already their third record, so they must be washed up. Christgau tells us why it might be worth listening to this band. Thunderbirds Are Now. Listen.

MAKE HISTORY, Detroit band Thunderbirds Are Now!'s third full length does away with a band in full tail-chase and depicts one at it's peak: no longer stressing about what people might expect, but rather wearing their influences (The Smiths, The Beatles, The Pixies) better than one of Interpol's tailored suits.

Notes

After Smith left the group to become a married man the band drafted bassist Howard Chang and hit the road with fervor, touring with the likes of Enon, Minus the Bear, The Hold Steady, The Constantines, These Arms are Snakes, Supersystem, and Rahim. Summer 2005 saw the band make their first appearance on the American summer festival circuit playing the Pitchforkmedia-curated Intonation Music Festival. To cap off their year the band visited the UK for the first time. In early 2006, Durgan left the band, so new drummer Matt Rickle (of Detroit faves Javelins) stepped in to the fray, joining the band for their first-ever Australian tour alongside Les Savy Fav and the Hold Steady. In late 2006, Chang exited the band and has since been replaced by Julian Wettlin (also of Javelins). 2007 promises more touring in support of Make History, with tours being planned in the US, Europe and beyond.
