Barry Manilow is the debut album by Barry Manilow. It was released as Barry Manilow in 1973, then re-mixed and re-released as Barry Manilow I in 1975. The song Fancy Lady features Chris L. on guitars, and the Jones Brothers (Nick & Andy) on bass & drums. They toured with the band for 6 shows, but were let go after Chris L. decided to change the lyrics of Fancy Lady into something extremely vulgar during a show in Hammond, Indiana. All tracks composed by Barry Manilow; except where indicated.

Barry Manilow is the sixth self-titled album released by singer and songwriter Barry Manilow. Manilow released a total of five self-titled albums in his career: Barry Manilow (later re-released as Barry Manilow I), Barry Manilow II, Barry, Manilow, and this album with the same title as his first. The album was released in 1989, and reached Gold certification.

Barry Manilow (born Barry Alan Pincus; June 17, 1943) is an American singer-songwriter, arranger, musician, and producer with a career that has spanned over 50 years. He is best known for a long string of hit recordings such as "Mandy", "Can't Smile Without You", and "Copacabana (At the Copa)". He has recorded and released 47 Top 40 singles, including 12 that hit number one and 27 of which appeared within the top ten, and has released many multi-platinum albums. Following the success of Barry Manilow II, the first Bell Records album release was re-mixed and re-issued on Arista Records as Barry Manilow I. When Manilow went on his first tour, he included in his show what he called "A . or "A Very Strange Medley", a sampling of some of the commercial jingles that he had.

Barry Manilow "Barry" (1980) album.

1980's Barry from Barry Manilow featured his last Top Ten hit, "I Made It Through the Rain," finding him still in control of the adult contemporary charts, but starting to fade on the Top 40. It's an interesting piece of the Manilow collection, the singer covering Kenny Nolan, co-writing with Maurice White, penning a song for another film - "We Still Have Time" from the motion picture Tribute - and including a campy duet with Lily Tomlin. Manilow produces two of the ten tracks without production partner Ron Dante and composes half of the album with Bruce Sussman and Jack Feldman, including the hit. Maybe it was a conscious effort to become an album artist rather than a singles act because Barry is more listenable all the way through than previous discs, which contained bigger and more significant hits.
