Waves was the debut album by New Zealand folk-rock band Waves. It was released in 1975 and reached N. on the New Zealand album charts. The album, which became a sought-after collectors item on vinyl, was re-released in 2013 on vinyl and CD with a bonus disc, Misfit, a previously unreleased album recorded by the band in 1976. Three singles were taken from the album-"The Dolphin Song"/"Letters", "Arrow"/Clock House Shuffle" and "At the Beach"/Waitress".

In Waves is Trivium’s fifth studio album which was released in 2011. Trivium is one of those bands that come once in a life time, there aren’t many bands out there who reached the same popularity as what these guys have done and there is a reason for this. First of all, not many bands out there are willing to combine thrash metal and metalcore together in a single sound and there are even less bands that do this well. Not only is In Waves probably the most beautiful album out of everything Trivium have produced, but its so easy to see (hear) that they have put in an effort to make this album as interesting as possible without over cluttering the music.

The album is built on this sort of deconstruction, and as the songs rip apart, a rewarding sense of unpredictability builds. Where other bands might fall into incoherence, the eccentricities build into something more logical and fit into the a context of the rest of the record. The weird whirls and snaps that guitarist Morgan Waters is able to provoke from his instrument are bizarre, but even when laden with effects, his riffs are always clear enough to work. Weaves have put themselves at a compelling intersection of pop, noise, and rock. They’ve created their own unique sound, and their self-titled record features more than a handful of fun, exciting songs.

Weaves began recording Wide Open, which is due out October 6th, 2017 on Buzz Records, Kanine & Memphis Industries, in early 2017. Assisted by engineer Leon Taheny (Austra, Fucked Up) who worked with them on their first LP, they approached the album as a high wire act - walking the line between intention and their own gleefully anarchic creative impulses.
