In November 2017, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Daniil Trifonov released their first joint album, focusing on one of the most famous work in all the classical repertoire. At the memorial concert for Kurt Masur at Leipzig’s Gewandhaus on April 16, Mutter performs the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Gewandhaus Orchestra under Michael Sanderling. She also recorded this classic of the violin repertoire in 2009 – with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Kurt Masur.

And Mutter has astutely joined with Kurt Masur and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig in the concerto, with cellist Lynn Harrell and pianist André Previn in the trio, and with Previn in the sonata. The great violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter pays tribute to Felix Mendelssohn  . The award ceremony in March 2008 was crowned by a gala concert at Leipzig's Gewandhaus with the Gawandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur, at which Mutter performed Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64. The movie director Günter Atteln produced the documentary Anne-Sophie Mutter – Encounters with Mendelssohn, in which the artist discusses her affinity to the composer Felix Mendelssohn.
