Wintersleep is the eponymous debut album by Canadian indie rock band Wintersleep, released in 2003 on Dependent Music. All songs written by Wintersleep with additional vocals by Stacy Ricker on the track "Wind". Paul Murphy – vocals and acoustic guitars. Loel Campbell – drums. Jud Haynes – bass guitar. James R. New Inheritors is the fourth album by Canadian indie rock band Wintersleep, released on May 17, 2010, in Europe, and in North America on May 18. The band began working on the album on September 2009. The mixing process finished in January 2010, and the masters were done by February. Several songs that are featured on the album were played live throughout 2009 and 2010, including "Encyclopedia", "Baltic", "Black Camera", "Experience the Jewel", and "Blood Collection".

New Inheritors, the title track, has a cool fuzzy bright riff and some nice synth background sounds. However, it’s Black Camara that takes the album to new levels with a really fast verse chorus changeover. It’s also got some wild guitar sounds flying around the track. Trace Decay has a beach boys feel to it, taking the album in a new direction before coming back to a more traditional path in Mausoleum. On top of the 12 new tracks, Wintersleep also throw in live recordings of Black Camara and Dance Macabre, just in case you were under any delusion that the album hadn’t delivered enough. While New Inheritors is build around traditional north American indie rock, it is also filled with a variety of different sounds that give the album the depth needed to create something new.

The release of New Inheritors sees Wintersleep in an interesting position. The album is simply bigger, louder, and dare I say better off for it. It's no coincidence that New Inheritors' best songs are the ones which see Wintersleep loosen up. The long, guitar-heavy instrumental passages featured in "Mausoleum" are the strongest example of this new found prowess, and considering the accompanying pop flare, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to call it one of the band's better songs. And though much of New Inheritors features some sort of instrumental break, not all are based around driving guitar rock.

Wintersleep is a Canadian indie rock band from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The band received a Juno Award in 2008  . They won the 2008 Juno Award for New Group of the Year. The band's members frequently collaborate outside of Wintersleep. Murphy and D'eon played together in the band Kary, now on indefinite hiatus.
