The Geto Boys is a remix album by the Geto Boys released in 1990. The album contains one track from the group’s debut album Making Trouble (1988), 10 from its previous album Grip It! On That Other Level (1989), and two new songs. All tracks on the album were re-recorded, remixed and revamped by acclaimed producer Rick Rubin with his protégé Brendan O'Brien. The cover of the album resembles The Beatles' album Let It Be, and the songs attracted much controversy upon the album’s release.

The Geto Boys (originally spelled Ghetto Boys) are an American rap group from Fifth Ward, Houston, Texas. The group's classic lineup comprised Bushwick Bill, Scarface and Willie D. The Geto Boys earned notoriety for lyrics covering controversial topics such as misogyny, gore, psychotic experiences and necrophilia. The group enjoyed success in the 1990s with several certified albums and singles. In 1988, the group released its debut album, Making Trouble. With the release receiving very little attention, the group broke up shortly thereafter and a new line-up was put together in which Bushwick Bill was joined by Scarface and Willie D, both aspiring solo artists. The Geto Boys were featured on Scarface's My Homies Part 2 album. The song "Street Life" from Till Death Do Us Part was featured on the motion picture South Central.

By all means, avoid this album if you're a newcomer and start with the later Geto Boys albums, particularly the self-titled one (1990) and We Can't Be Stopped (1991), as Making Trouble is merely a novelty that even the most die-hard fans may find of little value.

As the seldom-heard, mostly unknown original Geto Boys album - back when they were still the "Ghetto" Boys - Making Trouble should interest strictly enthusiasts of the Houston group, if that, and probably only to a slight extent. At this point, back in 1988, around the time when James Smith (then known as Lil' J) first launched his Rap-a-Lot label, the group had an entirely different lineup comprised of DJ Ready Red, Prince Johnny C, and the Slim Jukebox.
