The Jimi Hendrix Concerts is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released in August 1982. The album contains eleven songs from six different concerts between 1968 and 1970. The album spent eleven weeks in the UK Albums Chart peaking at number 16. In the . it was less successful, reaching number 79 in the Billboard 200. The 1989 re-release of the album on CD included a previously unreleased 12th track, "Foxey Lady". All tracks written by Jimi Hendrix, except where noted.

At first glance, The Jimi Hendrix Concerts seems a noble attempt to right a few of those wrongs. Unlike other live Hendrix albums, bootlegs excepted, this two-record set attempts to simulate a complete Hendrix concert performance with selections taken mostly from a 1968 stand at San Francisco's Winterland with the original Experience. Yet for all the incendiary rage and manic daring with which Hendrix attacks his guitar on now-classic blasts like "Fire" and "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)," this album is hardly "a collection of his most exciting performances,".

Out of several live Hendrix albums, The Jimi Hendrix Concerts stands as one of the very best. Taken from shows at Winterland, The Royal Albert Hall, and from various venues in New York, Berkeley, and San Diego, the set includes hits like "Fire," "Voodoo Chile," and "Hey Joe," as well as fine blues like "Red House," "Bleeding Heart," and "Hear My Train a Comin'. Definitivamente uno de los compilatorios más concisos y representativos del gran guitarrista de todos los tiempos es THE JIMI HENDRIX CONCERTS. Es una genial selección excelentemente bien producida y con genial calidad de sonido, de algunos de sus mejores temas en directo.

We’re reposting it in celebration of Jimi Hendrix’s 76th birthday. It’s one of the odder contradictions about Jimi Hendrix: Despite being so enigmatic and galvanizing in front of a live audience, he actually hated being out on the road. In his defense, the road in the 1960s was an unforgiving and punishing place to be, especially when plotted out in advance by Hendrix’s manager, Michael Jeffery. Below are the 10 concerts when the magician was at his most spellbinding. Host Paula Mejia is currently busy dissecting Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks, but come January, she’ll head straight into the distorted, wavy soundscapes of Electric Ladyland for more exciting episodes that’ll feature a diverse range of guests.
