The Magic Tour was Queen's final tour with their lead singer Freddie Mercury and their bass guitarist John Deacon, with 26 concert dates in Europe in 1986. The band would not tour again until 19 years later, when the Queen + Paul Rodgers Tour began in 2005, after the death of Mercury on 24 November 1991, and the retirement of Deacon in 1997. The Magic Tour supported the band's album A Kind of Magic.

I love EVERYTHING Queen and all of their tours BUT the Magic Tour really was pure MAGIC from beginning to end, in more ways than one. It was to be Queen's last tour with Freddie Mercury, although they weren't aware of that at the time. Like all things Queen it was sheer PERFECTION. Tonight, on 1st August, 1986 Queen LIVE! at Barcelona, Spain This night, travel Queen to Spain, for the last time, played the four in the spanish metropole of Barcelona. One year later, is Barcelona, for Freddie the most importants point in the World. Queen - The Magic Tour 1986. 8. Vocal Improvisation (Queen-Live In Leiden: 6/19/1986).

Queen were riding high after Live Aid but they each had their own plans for the remainder of that year. Freddie Mercury was still promoting his first solo album, ‘Mr Bad Guy’. Roger Taylor was busy extending himself musically by producing bands, Brian May was working on some solo material, and John Deacon played bass on a couple of Elton John tracks. The freedom from the endless cycle of album/tour/album did them the world of good, both mentally and physically. The Magic Tour began in Stockholm Sweden on the 7th June 1986. It was an extraordinary tour, it played to in excess of one million people over twenty-six concert dates. It smashed UK attendance records, it supported charity when Queen donated all proceeds of the Newcastle upon Tyne concert to the ‘Save the Children Fund’, and it gave hope to music fans when it tore down barriers in the Communist Eastern Bloc.
Barcelona is a song and an album recorded by Freddie Mercury, the front-man of the popular British rock band Queen, and operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé. The album was recorded in 1987 and 1988, and released in 1988. After Barcelona was selected to be the next Olympic city, Freddie was approached to write a song as a theme for the forthcoming games. The idea was to create a duet with Montserrat, as she is from that city. It was written to be the theme song of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, but was replaced due to Freddie's death. It was however performed live at the opening by Montserrat, with Freddie's voice recordings and it was used as the title music to the BBC's coverage of the 1992 Summer Olympics. The music video was filmed at the world's largest nightclub, Privilege in Ibiza. Russell Watson covers it on his album The Voice.
