Tim Buckley – Song To The Siren.
Song to the Siren (оригинал George Michael). Песня к Сирене (перевод Алекс). Long afloat on shipless oceans. В долгих плаваниях по пустынным океанам. I did all my best to smile. Я делал всё, что мог, чтобы улыбаться, 'Til your singing eyes and fingers. Пока твои поющие глаза и пальцы. Drew me loving to your isle. Не заманили меня на твой остров.

The song's reference to the sirens tempting sailors at sea stems from the ancient Greek myth of sea nymphs luring sailors on to rocks by their singing. This has become perhaps Buckley's most famous song due the many artists who have covered it since his death from a drug overdose in 1975. Most notable is the version by This Mortal Coil, which features the guitar and vocals of Cocteau Twins Robin Guthrie and Elizabeth Frazer.
Though his original author is Tim Buckley, it is well known to have been covered by numerous artists including Robert Plant on his 2002 album ‘Dreamland’, and as a duet with Plant and English tenor Alfie Boe on his 2011 album ‘Alfie’. It has also been covered by Mercury Prize nominee Susheela Raman on her album ‘Salt Rain’, and by John Frusciante on his 2009 album ‘The Empyrean’.
