Album · 2011 · 17 Songs. He lined up the best session musicians in Los Angeles for his Wall of Sound on his own Philles Records label, grabbed the best songwriters and then found the perfect singers to deliver his message alongside his little symphonies for the kids. This collection is a 50-year Anniversary Celebration. Between 1961 and 1966, Spector was an important part of the music industry. Wall of Sound: The Very Best of Phil Spector 1961-1966 Phil Spector.

Good value compilation of Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. He sort of moved things on in the manner of an earthquake as opposed to nudges elsewhere and private life apart (it's nobodies business actually) was a very positive influence. Imagine if the Beach boys hadn't heard him. It transformed their notions from twatty little numbers about adolescent lifestyle in white belt middle class America to their ultimate achievement, Good Vibrations. I have always loved the big wall of sound produced by Phil Spector, and this CD does not disappoint.

Phillip Harvey Spector (born Harvey Phillip Spector, December 26, 1939) is an American record producer, musician, and songwriter who developed the Wall of Sound, a music production formula he described as a Wagnerian approach to rock and roll. Spector was dubbed the "First Tycoon of Teen" by writer Tom Wolfe and is acknowledged as one of the most influential figures in pop music history. After the 1970s, Spector mostly retired from public life
