Sonny Boy is a 1961 album by jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins comprising four tracks from his final recordings for the Prestige label, three of which were originally released on Tour de Force, along with an unissued performance from the session that produced Rollins Plays for Bird. All compositions by Sonny Rollins except where noted.
Not to be confused with the earlier & more 'acoustic' Sonny Boy Williamson (of "Good Morning, School Girl" fame).
Brash Confident Earthy Street-Smart Intense Passionate Brooding Rebellious Eerie Rousing. The Animals with Sonny Boy Williamson. Another repackaging of the group's early live recording with American blues great Sonny Boy Williamson, in moderately good sound - the group's set sounds better on Sundazed's In the Beginning.

Sonny Boy Williamson I singles chronology. Bluebird Blues", "Jackson Blues" (1937). Early in the Morning" (1937). John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson recorded "Early in the Morning" in 1937. The song is a medium-tempo twelve-bar blues that features Williamson's vocal and harmonica accompanied by Robert Lee McCoy (later known as Robert Nighthawk) and Henry Townsend on guitars. He incorporated his signature "call-and-response style of alternating vocal passages with pungent harmonica blasts" that became a fundamental of blues harmonica. Backing Wells on vocal and harmonica are Muddy Waters and Louis Myers on guitars, Otis Spann on piano, Willie Dixon on bass, and Fred Below on drums. In 1965, he recorded two versions of the song with Buddy Guy-a live recording at Pepper's Lounge in Chicago from It's My Life, Baby!
Sonny Boy is one of the absolute cornerstones of the Chicago blues scene, and this album is an excellent place to start. In this period he recorded with Otis Spann, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters and others, so it would be nice to have the correct info on that. BTW, if my ears don't decieve me, the performer of "Like Wolf" (track 18) is Howlin' Wolf, although the authorship of the song is attributed to Williamson.
