Ramones Mania is a compilation album by the American punk rock band the Ramones. It was released on May 31, 1988 through Sire Records and consists of 30 Ramones songs, including some single versions ("Sheena Is a Punk Rocker," "Needles & Pins" and "Howling at the Moon"), a single B–side ("Indian Giver") and one previously unreleased song (the film version of "Rock 'n' Roll High School").
Ramones Mania is a relentless collection of 30 tracks from the Ramones' first ten albums, ranging from the classic Ramones to the less-than-classic Halfway to Sanity. Although not all of their great '70s songs are included, it boils down the highlights from the inconsistent '80s albums quite effectively, making it a useful summation of their peak period, even if the sequencing is not chronological. 1. I Wanna Be Sedated.
The Ramones were hardcore Punk Rock in the late 70s early 80s and I used to blare my stereo til my bedroom windows rattled. Then one day in about 1982 I caught my elegant mother singing along to 'Rockaway Beach'! The memory still makes me smile. RIP Ramones, thanks for all the good times. I think this is the BEST Ramones compilation album ever. I love every song on it. If you're a fan get this one for your collection.
Ramones Mania" isn't a studio album; it's a very large collection of Ramones songs, 30 in total. This album features earlier well-known songs, such as "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Teenage Lobotomy". The cd was released in late May of 1988, so none of the song's off "Brain Drain" through "Adios Amigos!" are on here, though the song selection remains several great choices. The first ten songs are classics, most of these are the band's best-known songs.
