First up, UK veteran Mark Broom delivers a dubplate take on the Flooorplan standard Never Grow Old. Broom focuses his efforts on snippets of the original vocal and wraps them around a dramatic chord build, making for a fine peak time workout.

And yes, this Mark Broom "Dubplate Mix," which has been receiving DJ play since as far back as 2015, is nicely executed, trading some of the original's loose soul vibes for more mechanistic expressions. The case for this release isn't helped by the inclusion of the tepid Broom track "Jungle. The EP is rounded out by a new "Re-Plant" of "He Can Save You," a cut from the 2016 Floorplan album Victorious. Again, this one has had been remixed before, with Hood including a slightly tweaked version on the Let The Church EP. And again, it's debatable whether this darker-but-similar remix needed to be released, particularly as it doesn't have the benefit of a killer original to draw from. Published, Tue, 5 Mar 2019.

The EP features three new cuts where house meets UK techno. The title track is intensely addictive, with its tough, tracky groove, stomping bassline and woven disco sample. 77' and 'LX' continue the theme but with a deeper quality. The former is a dizzying number that could have easily come out of the windy city, but pauses here and there for a touch of UK flavour, while the latter is a looped stomper, with it's piano refrain and compact beats
