Sadomagickal Seducer is a new project from mastermind Olivier B. Emond, who heads other bands Hexeth, Palmistry, and Shezmu, to name a few. The Canadian maestro has struck fleshy gold with this debut EP merging wall of sound, black/death bands like Nocturnal Blood or Teitanblood, minus the blast beats; with acid psych doom bands such as Heretic Rites or Uncle Acid. The keyboard melody towards the end of "Testicular Torture" is particularly beautiful, ending the ritualistic orgy with a somber requiem, punctuated by miserable weeping that makes the skin crawl. It is a wonderful way to end the EP and leaves the listener sick with lust, a sickness to the soul that either breaks or strengthens the libido.
