Isn't Anything is a Shoegaze and Dream Pop masterpiece, exploring sounds with such confidence that would go on to define the genre. A close listen will allow the ability to decipher just what is on display here, there is a certain moment of tranquility when listening that allows the listener to connect with what is being hear. This album is practically the definition of a beautiful mess. Every song seems a bit off, but it does it in a way that makes it seem all intentional. Surprisingly for me I much prefer the tracks where Bilinda Butcher has lead vocals on this project, while it was the opposite for me on Loveless.
