Francesco De Masi (11 January 1930 – 6 November 2005) was an Italian conductor and film score composer. He studied composition at the San Pietro a Maiella Conservatory in Naples, under the guidance of Achille Longo, his uncle. De Masi became interested in film music when Longo was asked to compose a soundtrack for a film, and he asked De Masi to be his assistant.

4. "Puertorico Club". In keeping with the strangely camp tone of the film, Francesco De Masi's score is one that combines elements of disco funk and Latin music into something uniquely unsettling, and is described by the label as managing "to capture the sleazy pre-Disney clean up of New York perfectly. As with all Death Waltz releases, the bespoke artwork is worth the price alone, with Nick Percival's sleeve playing up the grotty charity shop resting place of most similar video nasties of the era.

One More Day. Francesco De Masi. One More Day. 7. Fay. 8. Where is the Ripper? Francesco De Masi. 11. Suspense and Murder.

Talk about Francesco De Masi - The New York Ripper

Sharpbrew
Really nice soundtrack, jazzy, funky, with some great lush tracks with moody reverb. My pressing sounded quite clean. Agree with previous comment: I can see what they were going for, but this is one ugly cover! Would have much preferred the original artwork!

Really cannot get into the reissue artwork, praying for a reasonably priced original LP one day :)
