Rancho Texicano: The Very Best of ZZ Top is a greatest hits album by the blues rock band ZZ Top. It was released in 2004 on Rhino. The title is a portmanteau of "texan" and "mexicano", meaning "Tex-mex Ranch". The compilation is essentially a pared-down version of the box set Chrome, Smoke & BBQ, released the previous year. All songs are original mixes that have been digitally remastered. All songs by Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, except where noted. Brown Sugar" (Gibbons) – 5:22.

Since Rhino released an exhaustive four-disc ZZ Top box in October 2003, some may question the appearance of a double-disc retrospective in June 2004, a mere eight months after the box set. The two may be released awfully close to each other, but they do play to different audiences - in other words, there are a bunch of fans who want all the hits, but not a full box set, and that's what the 38-track Rancho Texicano: The Very Best of ZZ Top delivers. And apart from the aforementioned bewildering final three tracks, it's sequenced well, with the down-n-dirty '70s material on the first disc, and the MTV hits from the '80s on the second.

Rancho Texicano: The Very Best of ZZ Top. "Please retry". Even though I've had The Best Of ZZ Top forever, I can't say I've been a huge fan over the years. Sure, I liked many of the tunes, but I think overexposure in the 80s might have had something to do with it. When I came across this collection, my feelings for ZZ Top had grown into an appreciation. Everything ZZ Top on this album - it's the greatest collection of their work, in my opinion.
