This album seems to have taken him long enough to compose as it was; two of the songs had been released in demo form five years earlier, and the liner notes to this album claim that the earliest song was written in 1995. That said, from listening to the album, it's understandable why these songs would take a long time to compose. This is a one-man project, as mentioned, and these songs are truly intricate, progressive compositions with several segments and complex instrumentation
