Secondly, we see in this album a continuation with what Mr. V had in mind with his previous band Otyg: that is, combining the aggressive rawness of black metal and the epicness of folk music, with more emphasis on the folk than the black. Here we see exactly that: we hear plenty of acoustics, atmospherics, keyboards and Vintersorg's clean singing baritones for the win! But kvlties shouldn't worry about this sounding too stylistic and skillful: there's plenty of growling to make you feel like this is still somewhat a black album.

Till fjälls: Part II, a double album was released in June 2017. Along with this change in musical style, the lyrical topics began to shift as well. On earlier albums, the lyrics are all written and performed in Swedish, and dealt with topics of nature and paganism. With the advent of Cosmic Genesis, the lyrics were now written and sung mostly in English, and now dealt with scientific ideas such as astronomy and cosmology, philosophies such as metaphysics, and other ideas such as astrology. This band is called Vintersorg, this might be one of the more unique bands that the metal world has created, the lyrical themes are often about northern Swedish mythology like the Asa gods, the band also sings about nature and fantasy themes. The band plays a style that might seem a bit uninteresting but the truth is that this really cool if not great. Take progressive, folk, Viking, power and black-metal, forge them as one and you have Vintersorg. The band first released an EP called Hedniskhjartad, then their first full-length album was released.
