Minnie is the fifth and final studio album by American R&B/jazz singer Minnie Riperton. With a new record deal under her belt and a guarantee from the label of priority marketing and promotion, Minnie went right to work on what would be her final album.

Adventures in Paradise is the third studio album by Minnie Riperton issued in May 1975 by Epic Records. The album rose to Nos. 5 & 18 on the Billboard Top Soul Albums and Billboard 200 charts respectively. After Lovin’ You and Perfect Angel finished their chart run, Epic wanted a follow-up disc, and fast.

Minnie Riperton (Nov 8, 1947 - Jul 12, 1979) was an American singer who is best remembered for her 1974 hit ballad, Lovin' You. The tragic 1979 death of 31-year-old Riperton silenced one of soul music's most unique and unforgettable voices - blessed with an angelic five-octave vocal range, she scored her greatest commercial success with the chart-topping pop ballad, "Lovin' You". Riperton was born in Chicago on November 8, 1947.
