Tilt is the twelfth studio album by the American solo artist Scott Walker. It was released on 8 May 1995 and reached number 27 on the UK albums chart. No singles were released from the album. It was Walker's first studio album in eleven years. Walker composed the songs for the album between 1991 and 1992 except "Manhattan", which was written in 1987, and the final song "Rosary", which was composed in 1993.
The Walker Brothers’ 1978 album Nite Flights featured four tracks from Scott Walker that were in a completely different musical sphere from the rest of the group and most of popular music, for that matter. With touches of Brian Eno, David Bowie and Iggy Pop, Walker found his way to the future. Climate of Hunter, his only album of the ‘80s, is another piece of great idiosyncrasy. The lyrics exist as puzzles that are further enhanced by the generic titles ( Track Three, Track Fiv. The music flips out all over the place. Track Six is the sound of a horror movie being abducted by an alien.

No Regrets – The Best of Scott Walker and The Walker Brothers 1965–1976 followed in 1992. Then, in 1993, he broke cover by writing the lyric for, and recording, ‘Man From Reno’, written by Balkan composer Goran Bregović for the 1993 French film comedy Toxic Affair. Walker had little need for melody thereafter, taking a more collage-based approach: manic, impressionistic, intense, bleak, frequently beautiful – especially ‘Patriot (A Single)’.
