Push and Shove is the sixth studio album by American rock band No Doubt. It was released on September 21, 2012, by Interscope Records. The album serves as a comeback album for the band, as their last album, Rock Steady, was released over 10 years prior.

Many jazz musicians died when they were in their prime or even younger, particularly during the music’s heyday, but their music lives on forever. There are a number of jazz saxophonists that have been taken too soon, including the great Eric Dolphy, who was just 36 years old when he died in Berlin, Germany, while on tour, shortly after recording his seminal album Out To Lunch. Just before he went on tour in the early summer of 1964, Dolphy said, I’m on my way to Europe to live for a while.

But while Push and Shove, their first album in 11 years and only their fifth in two decades, didn’t come to fruition quite as effortlessly as its predecessor, sonically it plays like a logical continuation, reprising that album’s dancehall and dub styles and largely eschewing the ska sound that made No Doubt famous in the first place. By and large, the more interesting tracks are stacked on the front end of Push and Shove, and the songs on the second half of the album are comparably safer, blurring together upon first listen.

It is the old saying the brightest flame burns quickest. When the fallen are young and famous, their deaths are felt culturally, in our music, our movies and our literature. Whenever a celebrity or famous personality dies, the world seems to light up with cries of, ‘He was too young’ or, ‘She could have done so much more’.

I don't wanna die too young (Too young) Too young (Too young) Too young (Too young, uh) Countin' bands, hallelujah ('Lujah) 'Lujah ('Lujah) 'Lujah, yuh ('Lujah, uh) I don't wanna die too young (Too young) Too young (Too young) Too young, uh (Too young, uh-uh) I've been grindin' way too long (To. This song is meant to remind us that we can reach others with a different perspective and it can mean something to them as well. Everybody can relate to something in a certain way.
