It Dies Today formed in 2001 in the Buffalo area. Soon after they released their "Forever Scorned" EP, after which their popularity exploded. After touring extensively, and adding a second guitarist, It Dies Today had found their sound, and released The Caitiff Choir on Trustkill Records. Cutting a swath through the multitude of metalcore bands, It Dies Today are, and promise to keep being one of the best bands in the genre. Track One: My Promise. Track Eight: The Caitiff Choir: Revalations The first of a two part song bearing the name of the album. Great work overall in this one, with more of the lead guitar work that I've come to love from It Dies Today. Drums are pounding right in your face as usual, for It Dies Today is a quite drum driven band, I'm happy say. This is also one of the heavier songs on the album, with some great dissonant sounding lead parts in it.

It Dies Today (sometimes abbreviated "IDT") is an American metalcore band that formed in Buffalo, New York during September 2001. The band achieved popular success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, The Caitiff Choir The band reunited briefly for a show in 2012.

As told by abrasive opener "My Promise," it would appear that, unlike other wussy bands like Unearth and Killswitch Engage, It Dies Today doesn't waste precious time with silly frills like melody and traditional song structures.

Complete your It Dies Today collection. Is it just me, or does the recording on this sound different than the cd version? Trustkill dropped the ball on this one. The fade out on Defeatism is missing everything but the drums, and ends abruptly. Our Disintegration has what sounds like a shotgun going off in the middle of the song. The Caitiff Choir" may not be the most innovative album out there, but it sounds pretty great, and, with all the metalcore out there today, you could do a lot worse. As said before, It Dies Today are a promising young band who show signs of greatness. They're clearly on their way up, and it would be a huge mistake to write them off as "Just another metalcore band," without hearing this album, first. An interesting experiment, but way too much change just for the sake of change. The original album should be your highest priority if you don't yet have it. Otherwise, this a great grab - the remastered Forever Scorned tracks sound excellent (well worth -that- effort), and Enjoy the Silence is killer - the DVD about what you'd expect, the behind-the-scenes entertaining enough.
