Electric Soup: The Singles Collection is the first compilation album by iconic Australian rock group Hoodoo Gurus and contained all their Australian singles to date (September 1992). The album peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and was certified triple platinum. For the Electric Soup Tour in November of that year, Hoodoo Gurus were supported by Died Pretty and the Welcome Ma. .It was also released as a 2-CD set with Gorilla Biscuit, a collection of their b-sides and rarities.
Hoodoo Gurus (referred to as the Gurus by fans) are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1981, by the mainstay Dave Faulkner (songwriter, lead singer and guitarist) and later joined by Richard Grossman (bass), Mark Kingsmill (drums), and Brad Shepherd (guitar, vocals, harmonica). Their popularity peaked in the mid to late 1980s with albums Mars Needs Guitars!, Blow Your Cool! and Magnum Cum Louder.

I have a cassette tape of this album during the 90's, and when I first heard this guys, I was awestruck by their rock and roll style rifts with catchy melodic hooks, which would still pass with today's music genre. This is a classic one, and is already a rare collector's item for all those interested with this kind of music.
