Some might recall Live at the Britt Festival as a performance video released in 1992. This two-disc set is basically the audio track of that program. The sound is opulent, accurately re-creating the organic acoustics on opening night of the 30th anniversary Peter Britt Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon. Nesmith states in his liner notes he feels "ever fortunate that had the good sense to record this show. That is an understatement.

After leaving The Monkees, Michael Nesmith spent much of the '70s making cunningly quirky country-rock albums. In the '80s he mostly eschewed music-making for other interests, but when he released 1992's Tropical Campfires-his first album in 13 years-he embarked on a tour whose final date is captured here. The set offers an excellent overview of Nesmith's initial run as a solo artist and marks his last performance with a crucial collaborator, pedal steel guitarist Red Rhodes, who died two months later.

In late 2017, Michael Nesmith recreated his post-Monkees musical aggregation, The First National Band (named after the bank where Papa Nez kept his money at the time). Since two of the original band's key members - bassist John Carl Kuehne London and steel guitarist Orville J. "Red" Rhodes - are long deceased, Nez formed a new nine-piece group called The First National Band Redux, which includes, among others, two female background s, and Mike's sons Jonathan and Christian.
