The album and its singles, released by Polydor Records, were the Beatles' first commercially released recordings. In his capacity as record producer, Kaempfert played a part in the rise of The Beatles when he signed a Liverpool-based singer named Tony Sheridan. Sheridan had been performing in Hamburg, and needed to recruit a band to play behind him on the proposed sides. This was followed a year later with another hit for Sinatra, "The World We Knew (Over and Over)". Wooden Heart", sung by Elvis Presley in the film . Blues was a hit in 1961. Joe Dowell's cover of "Wooden Heart" became a big hit, reaching on the Billboard Hot 100 on August 28, 1961. In 1967 jazz clarinetist Pete Fountain recorded the album Pete Fountain Plays Bert Kaempfert in Hamburg, Germany, with musicians from Kaempfert's orchestra. It featured Kaempfert's signature hits.

I'll Remember April" is a popular song and jazz standard about nostalgia, with music written by Gene de Paul, and lyrics by Patricia Johnston and Don Raye. It made its debut in the 1942 Abbott and Costello comedy Ride 'Em Cowboy, being sung by Dick Foran. Since then, dozens upon dozens of artists have covered the song as listed below. One of the most notable live renditions of the song is a radio performance by Judy Garland, on a broadcast of Lux Radio Theatre.

I'll remember this I'll remember this I'll remember this. Let's pretend we're young again You're just a kid, I'm just a friend These memories, they draw us in Like perfume floating on the wind. So darling I'm calling it like it is It's a moment we'll never forget And 20 years from now You know we'll reminisce This feeling I'll never forget Oh, I'll remember this.

I’ll Remember, which gives the boxset its title, is typically schizophrenic, one minute a brooding rock song, the next a jazzy swing tune. The 1970 Isle of Wight appearance is omitted from the four discs, alas (though a DVD/CD release of it is planned), but I’ll Remember features two live performances from the same year. One is a recording for Radio 1’s In Concert, which suffers from muffled mono sound and too much hiss. DONAL GALLAGHER (Taste road manager, brother of Rory) The first Taste album has Rory’s face on the cover and seems like a vehicle for his talent as a guitarist. They had them go into the studio. They evaluated the tapes when they came back and said, We’ll sign the guitar player, but we want a different drummer and bass player. It emanated from that. It was very much seen by Polydor as Rory with two other guys.
