You had been my pipe dream ever since I had heard the legends about you. My high school teacher had told me about your most infamous moments: from being banned from the state of Oregon to trying to tip an airplane. Granted that these stories have been debunked as myths, my impression of the band was still that of an eccentric force of chaos. Yet, I didn’t think such chaos could have been so warm – that such chaos could have been so central to my Stanford experience. You, my beloved, are a living embodiment of a primal scream.

Each year, the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band is proud to present five divine divas of dance. Together, the Dollies make merry musical mayhem all over the Peninsula and the world. A long Stanford tradition, the Dollies perform at athletic events of every ilk and at rallies with the LSJUMB. The Tree is the Stanford Band's mascot and the unofficial mascot of Stanford University. The original Tree costume was conceived and constructed by Christine Hutson in 1975. Each year, the costume is created anew each year by the incumbent Tree.

Contraband was a short-lived supergroup/side project that included members of several famous rock bands from the 1980s, such as Shark Island, McAuley Schenker Group, Ratt, . The album was a commercial failure and the band disbanded shortly after, while touring with Ratt.
