I love Testament very much but honestly, they aren't very underrated, they're probably the most popular thrash metal band after the big four. A superb more polished Album in comparison to their sophomore effort. A pummeling thrash/death affair with hints of black metal and an incredible lineup, this one of a kind Testament album reigns as the best. Just like low this album does not deserve to be this high up, though it is better than low. Like low it is a boring album, with some good songs like DNR and True Believer.

There's a very weird thing about thrash metal - when it gets to a certain velocity and technical prowess, the guitars no longer sound like guitars, they sound like processed metallic machines. Which, of course, is part of the point, but it will often be slightly strange to listeners, even if they're hearing a band as acclaimed as thrash metal titans Testament. And that may be off-putting if they're coming in cold to Rhino's The Very Best of Testament.

I love Testament!!! Is one of the very best thrash metal band. One person found this helpful. purchased the best of this group and was disappointed on this as I can listen to this but it wont be something I will listen too though just not my style.
