Spanning the gamut from ambient digital beats to atmospheric death morbidity, Ephel Duath appeals to many different musical tastes. This lengthy album allows the listener to whet their appetite with a very unique take on gothic eccentricity, and along with Phormula in its entirety there are also two songs remixed and a sampling of Ephel Duath's original demo, 1998's Opera. While half of Ephel Duath's dynamic duo has since departed from the group, this is still an accurate portrayal of what will come with future albums.

Phormula is the full-length debut studio album by the Italian band Ephel Duath. Originally released through Code666 label in early 2000, the album was reissued two years later by Earache's sub-label Elitist. Bonus tracks on the reissue were three songs from the 1998 demo Opera and two remixes; this release was re-titled as Rephormula.

EPHEL DUATH entered Outer Sound Studios in Rome on July 14 to complete the recording of "Through My Dog's Eyes" with producer Giuseppe Orlando (NOVEMBRE, KLIMT 1918). The drums for the album were recorded by Marco Minnemann (who recently played drums for NECROPHAGIST on their Summer Slaughter tour) at Seacoast Studio in Imperial Beach, California. Mastering for "Through My Dog's Eyes" will take place at Finnvox Studios (HIM, NIGHTWISH) in Helsinki, Finland, while the artwork for the album is being created by Seldon Hunt (NEUROSIS, ISIS, SUNNO)))).
