On Stage is a live album by American singer Elvis Presley, released on RCA Records LSP-4362 in June 1970. It was mostly recorded between February 17 and 19, 1970 at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. The album reached number 13 on both the Billboard 200 and country music charts. It was certified Gold on February 23, 1971, and Platinum on July 15, 1999, by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Steve Lillywhite joined the band on stage - and took home his own Grammy for Producer (nonclassical) of the Year. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb is an odd title for an album,' reflected Bono at those Awards. The success of Vertigo at the 2005 Grammy Awards was followed by the band's induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame - with Bruce Springsteen making a perfectly judged speech.

The album jettisoned their scrappy guitar rock in favor of a moody, atmospheric sonic palette - highlighted by the dreamy opening song "A Sort of Homecoming," a hymn-like poem praising the restorative power of connection and communion. Bono's impassioned vocals curl around the gauzy music, notable for its beatific Edge guitar strokes and heartbeat-patter percussion. U2's ability to balance religious allusions, spiritual heft and rock 'n' roll verve coalesces on the early single "Gloria," a Top 10 hit in Ireland. Where the Streets Have No Name" is one of the best album-opening songs ever, the sonic equivalent of a plane taxiing on the runway before liftoff. I was just trying to sketch a location, maybe a spiritual location, maybe a romantic location," Bono said in 1987. I was trying to sketch a feeling.

Rumors have been flying for the better part of the week, and now it's confirmed - Tim Cook just name-dropped U2 on stage and the band is jumping on stage now to perform a new song entitled "The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)" from its brand-new album Songs of Innocence. After performing, Bono joked that the band has made "several albums" in the last few years but hadn't made one that it felt was worth releasing - until today. would be performing and partnering with Apple for some sort of new album promotion. Lead singer Bono also created the Project Red charity, of which Apple has been a partner since its inception in 2006.

Songs Of Ascent is an album title that has been in play since Bono mentioned it in March, 2009 album titles. But in late 2017, Adam may have put Songs Of Ascent to bed when he said that, while the band will have "lots of leftover pieces" when it comes time to make a new album, "I'm sure we'll start from scratch. Here's the part relevant to U2's next album: "I'm very excited about the sound this band are making on the e-stage. There seems to me a kind-of punk energy, visceral energy, that shows this band to be the best they've ever been. So this is a real moment for us.
