Sons of Settlers started out as a four-piece band from South Africa; they travelled to Germany for the first time in the summer of 2014, where their unique, high-energy melodic folk sound secured them a following wherever they went. After a brief hiatus, they returned to Germany during the summer of 2015 to launch their debut album, Lullabies for the Restless, with Motor Entertainment. After a failed attempt to secure long-stay artist visas for Germany, the band was forced to return to South Africa.
