Echo & the Bunnymen are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson, supplemented by a drum machine. By 1980, Pete de Freitas joined as the band's drummer. Their 1980 debut album, Crocodiles, went into the top 20 of the UK Albums Chart

Siberia is the tenth studio album by Echo & the Bunnymen. The track "Of a Life" has the line "I want a song to learn and sing", which name-checks the band's 1985 compilation album Songs to Learn and Sing.

Shiver and say the words Of every lie you've heard. First I'm gonna make it Then I'm gonna break it Till it falls apart Hating all the faking And shaking while I'm breaking Your brittle heart. Billy stands All alone Sinking sand Skin and bone Bring on the dancing horses Wherever they may roam. Shiver and say the words Of every lie you've heard. Brittle heart Brittle heart Brittle heart And my little heart Goes.

Redirected from Echo and the Bunnymen (album)). Echo & the Bunnymen is the fifth studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen, their last with drummer Pete de Freitas, who died in 1989 in a motorcycle accident, aged 27. The album was produced by Laurie Latham who recorded the album in Germany, Belgium, London and Liverpool; this followed an aborted attempt at recording the album without de Freitas and with producer Gil Norton.

The dancing horses, "headless and all alone," are statues. In a Songfacts interview with lead singer Ian McCulloch, he explained: "It's about the way people would sooner look at statues than themselves. We revere things that tell us about ourselves. This song first appeared on the Echo & The Bunnymen compilation album Songs To Learn & Sing in 1985, where it was the only new song on the track list.
