Hot Little Rocket was a Canadian indie rock band based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The band consisted of vocalist and guitarist Andrew Wedderburn, guitarist Aaron Smelski, drummer Joel Nye, and bassists: Mark Macarthur, Pat May, and Matthew Swann. Hot Little Rocket formed in 1998, the band released its debut EP, Laika, in 2000, and followed up with Danish Documentary the following year.

About Hot Little Rocket. Calgary, Alberta's Hot Little Rocket were a melodic yet abrasive power pop/punk band. Guitarist Aaron Smelski and bassist Mark MacArthur, veterans in the Calgary scene, recruited guitarist Andrew Wedderburn in a classified ad. Drummer Joel Nye already had a long history of drumming for various bands in Saskatchewan, even before he joined the band.
