Talk about Erast - Goodair + Minimissing

After two singles titled "Goodair" and "Minimissing", Nika Machaidze (Well knowed for his music under the "Nikakoi" artistic name) oficially released his first album under the "Erast" nickname: Goodair + Minimissing; containing the songs released in the singles named before, along with new studio material and remixes of some productions. But this compilation is one of his finest works, containing a wide range of sonic experimentations with genres not so much explored under the Nikakoi flag. For this reason, this may be a little different (And challenging) music for those who are familiar with his sentimental, deep Nikakoi productions. The opener track, "Argentina", is an IDM style track with spanish movie samples, and is a alternate version of "Goodair": this one features a more deep beat, with almost the same elements of the former track; "Masa" is a Drum'n'bass infected song with ultra-speed beats, but also contains sweet melodies between (An classic element for his music). "Voronej", is a lo-fi Drum'n'Bass track as well, but contains some elements of Dance Music and Techno, with strings; "Apxgit" is an IDM balad (With the same principal keyboard that in the "PP" track of his Nikakoi's "Sestrichka" album) with elements of techno, too. The remix of "Goodair" by Freeform is a little playful compared with the rest of the material, but works well by the contrast; "Minimissing 5" is part of the "Minimissing series", but sounds like an incomplete song, or an introduction. But, where the music begins to lack in potential is when the good elements arrives: "Movie I'll Never Shoot" is a colorful song (I mean, with a good melody in it) with Jazzy beats, mixed with Drum'n'Bass rapid beats, with a techno style; "Poema" is an Avant-Garde musical piece with different velocities along the song, being a very experimental track (But it also works well with the contrast of elements in the album). "Minimissing 6" delivers the energy not released in the previous Minimissing track in the album: An only keyboard line, mixed with techno-dance beats and various strings, with a sweet melody. "Georgianintokyo" follows this concept, explorating a IDM-dance style, but the rythm seccion is entirely given to the strings, with some guitar beats; And the remix of this piece by Atom™ fulls the entire track with more musical influences, being Techno, IDM, Pop, Jazz, Rock and even Mambo some of this musical flavors. As a whole, the production of the album is quite enough good for a IDM relase, and the cinematographic view of Nika Machaidze keeps this release like his works: two songs don't sound the same, and each one has an individual concept behind the music (This gives value to any record, I tell you). The design of the package is also very worked: The 3-D collage of african animals in the Gatefold fits with the music feeling in the record, and keeps the ambient somewhat extrange. All this makes Goodair + Minimissing an excelent Debut relase for Erast, and makes it very recomendable. It's really hard to find... But it will (Surely) glad you up when you can finally find it.
