Booker Taliaferro Jones Jr. (born November 12, 1944) is an American t, songwriter, record producer and arranger, best known as the frontman of the band Booker T. & the . Sound the Alarm (Booker T. Jones album). Sound the Alarm is the tenth studio album by soul musician Booker T. Jones. It was released in June 2013, and features guest appearances from Gary Clark, J. Estelle, Anthony Hamilton and Vintage Trouble. The album marks Jones' return to Stax Records, where he made his name with hits like Green Onions (1962) and his first for the label since Melting Pot in 1971.

In 1978, Jones released Try and Love, his first solo album, and continued recording, releasing two more records, I Want You in 1981, and The Runaway in 1989. He continued to collaborate, playing with no less than Neil Young and Ray Charles, among others. s were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. In 2008, Jones teamed up with country-rock band Drive-By Truckers and Neil Young to release the album Potato Hole.
