Symphonie Nr. 1 D-dur "Der Titan". 1. Langsam, Schleppend ('Wie Ein Naturlaut'). Tannhauser - Overture. Tracks 1-4 from Symphonie Nr. 1 D-Dur "Der Titan", performed by the Ljubljana Symphoniorchester, conducted by Anton Nanut Track 5 is Wagner, performed by the London Symphonyorchestra, conducted by Alfred Scholz.

Symphony No. 1 in D major by Gustav Mahler was mainly composed between late 1887 and March 1888, though it incorporates music Mahler had composed for previous works. It was composed while Mahler was second conductor at the Leipzig Opera, Germany. Although in his letters Mahler almost always referred to the work as a symphony, the first two performances described it as a symphonic poem or tone poem. The work was premièred at the Vigadó Concert Hall, Budapest, in 1889, but was not well received.

Tannhäuser, is an 1845 opera in three acts, music and text by Richard Wagner, (WWV 70 in the catalogue of the composer's works) based on two German legends: Tannhäuser, the legendary medieval German Minnesänger and poet, and the tale of the Wartburg Song Contest. The story centers on the struggle between sacred and profane love, and redemption through love, a theme running through much of Wagner's mature work.
