Bob Marley – Crazy Baldhead.

On September 21st, 1980, Bob Marley collapsed while jogging in New York. Two nights later, he honored this sold-out date - Marley’s last show before he died of cancer in 1981. His performance does not have the conqueror’s fire of 1975’s Live! or the arena-star confidence of ’78’s Babylon by Bus. But there is an eerie valedictory defiance in Marley’s singing, matched by the Wailers’ heavy, impatient swagger in Them Belly Full and Jamming and the surging trance of Exodus.

The final concert of Bob Marley’s career, this oft-bootlegged show has never sounded better than on this official 2011 release from the Marley estate. With plenty of hiss and maxed levels, Live Forever is hardly perfect when it comes to sound quality, and the laid-back show doesn’t stand up against Marley’s live masterpiece Babylon by Bus, but fans who want their reggae party a little less punky will find this a great, chilled alternative

On my cd & lp, the 2 last songs (cd2 and LP3): "Work" "Get Up Stand Up" , the sound is really low & bad...

In the CD booklet it states:"Dear Fan,The audio concert you now have in your possession was not initially intended to be released for a live record. As was occasionally the habit, Bob Marley & The Wailers liked to keep soundbosrd recordings from different nights during their tours for posterity purposes. The bulk of this concert is from one such tape. Unfortunately, during the encore of the concert, the reel to reel soundboard tape ran out. In order to complete this historic show, we needed to go to the secondary source from that night to obtain the last two songs, hence the drop in sound quality. We hope you understand and that you enjoy this concert as a whole."Surprisingly this is omitted in the CD & LP set.
