Duane Eddy and the Rebels became a frequent act on The Dick Clark Show. During the 1960s, Eddy launched an acting career, appearing in such films as A Thunder of Drums, The Wild Westerners, Kona Coast, The Savage Seven, and two appearances on the television series Have Gun–Will Travel. He married singer Jessi Colter in 1961, the same year he signed a three-year contract with Paul Anka's production company, Camy, whose recordings. Original album covers were white with Duane Eddy sitting on guitar case and the LP title in white. Second pressings showed the same cover with the LP title in green and red; third pressings were red album covers with Duane Eddy standing Note: It is very likely that so called "original" version white letter covers do not exist. It is hard to overestimate the influence Duane Eddy had on the rock instrumental groups that proliferated in the late 50s and early 60s. There were plenty of musicians playing rock'n'roll before he came along, but Duane was the first instrumentalist to achieve pop star status. His spell at Jami Records resulted in no less than 20 entries in Billboard's Top 100 chart between 1958 and 1961, bringing the guitar to the fore as a potent rock'n'roll symbol and inspiring and influencing most of the musicians in the surf genre.

Duane A Go-Go is a party record, pure and simple, and while Eddy's twanging guitar is in good form, only a handful of songs are memorable. For the most part, Duane Does Dylan is exactly what it says it is - Eddy recasting Dylan's songs as reverb-drenched rockers. For some reason, he tosses in a couple of non-Dylan songs - "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Not the Lovin' Kind," "Houston" and "Eve of Destruction" - which really don't sit very well with the other material
