Here’s our pick for the top ten Duran Duran songs. 10 – Union of the Snake. In the early days of the band, Simon Le Bon was always a bit ambiguous with his lyrics, and this big single from 1983’s Seven and the Ragged Tiger album is no exception. As the first single from the 1986 album of the same name, Notorious boosts Le Bon’s always solid vocals with the addition of horns and slick Nile Rodgers production, resulting in a riffy, slightly funky track that sounds like Duran Duran, only better. You can sing along with it, you can dance to it, and you can hear it on just about every ‘80s compilation because it’s flat-out amazing. 1 – New Moon on Monday.

An all grown-up Duran Duran compared to their work in the 80's. I find it fits into the 90's quite nicely. Everything on this album is memorable and truly classic. Ordinary World" and "Come Undone," soft ballads from the heart that are just unforgettable. the first time I heard ordinary world I was taken in. but then I heard come undone and it literary took my breath away. there is some other great tracks here love voodoo and none of the above as well as sin of the city.
Duran Duran had made a huge comeback with the album, which reached No 4 in the UK, and No 7 in the US. But when the girls at school found out that I liked the band, they called me a loser for wanting to shag a bunch of sad old men. I dreamed of one day meeting Duran Duran, and playing piano and singing on one of their albums. I gradually listened to Rio, and Notorious, and Seven and the Ragged Tiger. Aged 15, I was asked out for the first time, by a boy a year older than me. When I told him I was a Duran Duran fan, he memorably labelled them cock rock and made me promise not to make him listen to them. He made me mixtapes of Suede, Pulp and Blur in an effort to improve my musical tastes, not realising that most of those bands had been influenced by Duran Duran. Aged 16, I had to leave school.
