Our House was written by Madness entalist Cathal Chas Smash Smyth and guitarist Chris Foreman. In the liner notes of a 1986 compilation album, Smyth said Our House grew from the idea that each band member would write about his family. Smyth: No one else bothered. I did. The song marked the group’s first time working with string arranger David Bedford. Lead singer Graham Suggs McPherson told The Daily Mirror: It was clear to him what our records needed and he did great things for us. It’s strange now to think we were so philosophical about such everyday things

Our House" is a song by British ska and pop band Madness. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album, The Rise & Fall, on 12 November 1982. The song charted within the top ten in multiple countries, being the band's only hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The song won Best Pop Song at the May 1983 Ivor Novello Awards. Released in November 1982, it peaked at in the UK singles chart

Our house it has a crowd There’s always something happening And it’s usually quite loud Our mum she’s so house-proud Nothing ever slows her down And a mess is not allowed. Father gets up late for work Mother has to iron his shirt Then she sends the kids to school Sees them off with a small kiss She’s the one they’re going to miss In lots of ways

This Slaughter-House simply isn’t a good place to be. Both D-12 albums are better, for comparison’s sake, and I don’t even like the second D-12 album. That isn’t much of a surprise though. Listen to his forced flow on this album’s title track, which does include a witty line about his daughter, and tell me it’s any better than eh. Not that he never shines anymore. The highlights that do count, like the Coffin drums and lyrics that are great as opposed to just better than most other mainstream rappers, are few and far between.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Artistfacts. They played four songs from the album; "Teach Your Children", "Our House", "Country Girl", and "Helpless". Esskayess from Dallas, TxI always mentally paired this song with Seals and Crofts' Summer Breeze. Wess from Moorhead, Mnwhat can u say. great song, great band.

However, 'Our House' does have faults. It does take far too long to get going, with a long-winded beginning that feels over-stretched and not as interesting as it could have been. Have to agree with others too that for the horror elements it is far too tame and no real sense of dread or jeopardy. it is not scary, nor is it particularly interesting.
