my copy is a clear dark red/brown that appears black when not held up to light... is this standard for the pressing?

Mine is also the clear maroon-ish color. I got mine from the band in '94 when they played the Hong Kong Cafe and I always assumed it was a first (if not only) pressing. My cover stock is white corrugated cardboard taped on two sides - not the manila envelope or brown paper bag in the description.
