Fairgrounds - La Mar flac album

The Del Mar Fairgrounds is a 370-acre (. km2) property that is the site of the annual San Diego County Fair (which was called the Del Mar Fair from 1984 to 2001). In 1936, its Del Mar racetrack was built by the Thoroughbred Club with founding member Bing Crosby providing leadership. The Fairgrounds is owned by the State of California and is managed by the 22nd District Agricultural Association, a state agency that hosts more than 300 annual events.

The Del Mar Fairgrounds has been a self-supporting asset of the 22nd District Agricultural Association. It is the venue for the famous San Diego County Fair. It also operates the Surfside Race Place, an all year satellite horse racing facility. It even hosts several trade shows, exhibitions, fairs, and music festivals. All in all, it provides a variety of entertainment for the discerning tourist.
