Live Evil (CD, Album, RE, RM). Essential, Essential. ESM CD 333, GAS 0000333ESM.
Live Evil is the first official live album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The previously released Live at Last (1980) was not sanctioned by the band 1 Recording. 3 Release & Reception. The Live Evil album was recorded on the Mob Rules tour.
Live Evil was my first Black Sabbath album, and it got me hooked. This is arguably the heaviest live album released by any rock or metal band, and showcases the band at the height of their powers, and firing on all cylinders. Though there is almost some studio remastering wizardry at play, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler's tone on this album is so incredibly perfect that it sets an almost impossible standard for all other metal bands to achieve
Live Evil is the first official live album by British traditional heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The album was recorded in Seattle, San Antonio, and Dallas during the band’s 1982 tour in support of their album Mob Rules. Producers Black Sabbath, Martin Birch & Rodger Bain. Writers Bill Ward, Dio, Geezer Butler & 3 more. Assistant Engineer Joe C Foglia. Assisted By Graham Wright & Mickey Balla.
Band Name Black Sabbath. Album Name Live Evil. Released date December 1982. Labels Warner Music Group.
Due to the acrimonious nature of their split with Black Sabbath just before the release of the album, Ronnie James Dio is billed only as "Ronnie Dio" and Vinny Appice is listed as a guest musician despite having been a full member of the band. The original 80′s US CD version (Warner) had 2 discs in 2 Jewel Cases. The previously released Live at Last (1980) was not sanctioned by the band . By re-recording several songs from their earlier catalog and releasing them as a live album, all the songwriters stood to see a hefty profit from the publishing royalties. The sleeve states that the songs were recorded in Seattle, San Antonio and Dallas during the 1982 tour in support of the Mob Rules album, but doesn't give the venues or recording dates for the individual tracks.
