Only for completionists (3%). Despite the album bombing big time the first time around and shrouding the band in mystery for decades, the popularity of GREEN EYED GOD has only grown exponentially since. The album has become quite the mandatory staple of progressive rock collectors who like a hard rock bite with their psychedelic folk with jazzy touches which is mostly due to the strong songwriting that provides intricate and addictive melodies but most of all it's how the band crafted these compositions with a keen sense of adding subtle elements that despite using the.

Steel Mill was an early Bruce Springsteen band. Other members of the band included three future members of the E Street Band - Vini Lopez, Danny Federici and Steve Van Zandt. As well as playing on the Jersey Shore, Steel Mill also played regularly in Richmond, Virginia and played gigs in California and a festival in Nashville, Tennessee. They opened for acts such as Chicago, Boz Scaggs, Grand Funk Railroad, Roy Orbison, Ike & Tina Turner and Black Sabbath.

Green Eyed God was only released in Germany upon its completion in 1972 and it wasn’t until 1975, long after the band’s demise, that it appeared on domestic shores. Listening now to this little progressive masterpiece it is truly mystifying as to why any label would sit on this little gem, with its quintessentially English mix of prog, folk, hard rock and blues that at once has a broad enough spectrum to draw in fans of Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin, and yet is a unique and characterful album brimming. The five newly unearthed demos date from two years previous and show the very interesting evolution of Steel Mill from their bluesy, Cream-like, late 60s scene origins. These curios are a long way from where the band ended up, and with good reason: all the positives of Green Eyed God are missing from these non-descript, derivative slabs of blues rock.

Talk about Steel Mill - Green Eyed God

Jum
Is this official release or counterfeit and is it really was issued in mid 70. ??
Golden freddi
I really doubt that. The one I own is heavy 180g vinyl and the cover is shiny and looks new. Likely a counterfeit, sounds OK tho.
